Cages/Habitat

When searching for cages, it is recommended to prioritize width over height. This design provides more functional space for birds as they tend to prefer higher perches. Opt for cages labeled as "flight cages" for this purpose. It is essential that, at a minimum, parrots have sufficient room to fully extend and flap their wings without obstruction from the cage bars.
Small to Medium Parrots
For smaller parrots, it is crucial to select a cage with bar spacing less than 5/8", a feature that may be challenging to find in larger aviaries but which is important to ensure their safety.
